I first remember meeting Eric at the Goose Creek Rendezvous in Sept 2012. I was doing the registration and he was new to GCR. Of course we always as our new visitors how they heard of us and he was friends with the Southerton's and their group and that's how he ended up at GCR.
I of course was crazy busy running around like a chicken with my head cut off, typical for me at GCR. I did "notice" him. In other words I realized he was camping there alone, no one else in his tent, he had to be good people because he was with the Southerton's, and he was mildly attractive and I wouldn't have minded getting to know him better.
Being so busy I wasn't really able to spend any time talking with him and I am a shy person so it takes me a little while to get up the nerve to start talking with someone new. The other problem is that I was getting over a recent heartbreak so the timing wasn't the best for me.
That was the first time I remember meeting Eric and my first impressions of him.
I think we ran into each other at the New Ulm Trade Fair (at least he says we did), but I don't remember that happening. All I do know is that sometime in March or April 2013 we became friends on Facebook, or maybe that was in May?
The next time I remember seeing him was at Cannon River Rendezvous in May 2013. Honestly, the first thing I notice was what he was wearing, not kinda of not wearing. He had a breechcloth on and oh my could I see a lot of let, and goodness I don't think I need to know just yet that he's as hairy as he is... but oh my! :)
Of course one of my girlfriends I was with commented on how much leg he was showing (I wasn't complaining but just wow!), and that made me nervous about going over to talk with him. That and he was camped on the complete opposite end of camp than I was, we didn't run into each other much. We talked a little before the Saturday dinner, but not much. I did go once towards his camping thinking of talking with him a little, but I saw he had a friend with him and I lost my nerve and went back towards my camp. Yes I'm a chicken...
After these few interactions with him I was curious about getting to know him better, or at all, and just seeing what kind of guy he is...
